Sweta Ravisankar; JamBallah Showcase 2019
2019 instructor Sweta Ravisankar performs Bharatnatyam--a south Indian classical dance form--at the JamBallah Showcase, at the Lewis & Clark Flanagan Chapel Theater in Portland, OR. This particular piece concentrates on Layam (la-yum) or rhythm. Combinations of rhythms are well briefed out in the phrases. This is an example of how layam, 'rhythm', evokes corresponding bhavam, 'expression'. The lyrics are in Tamil, an Indian language.

I have loved almost every performance I have seen of hers, I do not care for this one at all. I felt very uncomfortable during the entire performance . Not sure if it’s the song that is hitting my ears on a bad wave length or what but I don’t think I was very visually pleasing either ... I feel bad saying that this performance was bad. Forgive me.😔
